Week 1

Grading Criteria 评分标准（首课 PPT 文字提取）

总评五部分：Speech Assignments 40% + Peer Feedback and Participation 20% + Quizzes/Reflection Papers 10% + Midterm Speech 15% + Final Speech 15% = 100%。

1. Speech Assignments（演讲作业，40%）

  • Content（内容，10%）
  • Clear main idea, logical structure, appropriate for the type of speech.（主旨清晰、结构合逻辑、符合演讲类型）
  • Relevant examples, stories, or evidence to support points.（用相关的例子、故事或论据支撑观点）
  • Creativity and originality of the speech.（演讲的创意与原创性）
  • Delivery（表达，10%）
  • Confidence, body language, eye contact, and tone.（自信、肢体语言、眼神交流与语气）
  • Effective use of voice: clear articulation, appropriate pace, and volume.（声音运用有效：发音清晰、语速与音量得当）
  • Audience Engagement（观众互动，10%）
  • Did the speaker engage the audience (e.g., through questions, emotions, or direct addressing)?（是否通过提问、情感共鸣或直接称呼吸引观众）
  • Did the speech suit the context (e.g., formal or informal tone for a toast or eulogy)?（演讲是否契合场合——如祝酒词或悼词该用正式还是非正式语气）
  • Time Management（时间管理，5%）
  • Did the speaker stay within the time limit?（是否控制在时限内）
  • Was the speech well-paced without rushing or dragging?（节奏是否得当、不赶不拖）
  • Use of Visual Aids (if applicable)（视觉辅助，如适用，5%）
  • Appropriate use of any visual aids (slides, props) to enhance the speech.（恰当使用幻灯片、道具等视觉辅助来增强演讲）

2. Peer Feedback and Participation（同伴反馈与课堂参与，20%）

  • Constructive Feedback（建设性反馈，10%）
  • Quality of peer feedback provided (how helpful, specific, and constructive it was).（所给同伴反馈的质量：有帮助、具体、有建设性）
  • Engagement with others' speeches (active listening, thoughtful questions).（投入他人演讲：积极倾听、提出有思考的问题）
  • Class Participation（课堂参与，10%）
  • Active involvement in discussions, group activities, and Q&A sessions.（积极参与讨论、小组活动与问答环节）
  • Participation in impromptu speaking exercises or role-playing activities.（参与即兴演讲练习或角色扮演活动）

3. Quizzes/Reflection Papers（测验与反思报告，10%）

  • Listening and Analysis Quizzes（听力与分析测验，5%）
  • Occasional quizzes on lecture content, speech analysis, or key concepts (e.g., identifying different types of ceremonial speeches, recognizing effective speech techniques).（关于讲课内容、演讲分析或关键概念的不定期测验，如辨别不同类型的礼仪演讲、识别有效演讲技巧）
  • Reflection Papers（反思报告，5%）
  • Short written reflections on personal progress, challenges faced, and lessons learned in speaking.（对个人进步、遇到的挑战与演讲经验教训的简短书面反思）

4. Midterm Speech（期中演讲，15%）

  • A more formal individual speech (e.g., an acceptance or commemorative speech).（更正式的个人演讲，如获奖感言或纪念演讲）
  • Scored using the same criteria as speech assignments (content, delivery, engagement, etc.).（按与平时演讲作业相同的标准评分：内容、表达、互动等）
  • Focus on improvements from early speeches.（重点关注相比早期演讲的进步）

5. Final Speech（期末演讲，15%）

  • A final speech project.（期末演讲项目）
  • Rubric:（评分细则）
  • 10% for delivery and content (same as regular speech assignments).（10% 表达与内容，与平时演讲作业相同）
  • 5% for overall improvement since the beginning of the course (progress in delivery, confidence, organization, etc.).（5% 开课以来的整体进步：表达、自信、结构组织等方面）
